This morning, my sister Robin sent me a text saying her photo was in the K-State Collegian.
Yay! Since I worked for Spub for years, it wasn't really likely she would be featured in an interview or photo. BUT today, they did a story on Women in Aviation at K-State Salina. (that's the direct link, they'll change the front page tomorrow and you'll have to dig for it).
The photo was from Robin competing in the Air Race Classic.
Way to go sis!

But, and there's always a but with me, with a cliche lede ("one of many") and a group photo I have to ask: what's happened to K-State journalism?
It was thousands of dollars to send those ladies on the flight ... and there are rules about people who are not in the flight program riding with flight students. Something about liability ....
I get that the logistics of the event most likely prevented any sort of "live" coverage. I was speaking more in general terms of my overall dissatisfaction with the turn the Collegian has taken since Ron Johnson was removed as adviser ... not a slam against your sister or her cool event.
