Future hot rod?

Hold on to your estrogen, ladies! There's going to be plenty of testosterone (read: car stuff) in this post. There are a few photo tips/notes hidden in here, though.

My father-in-law restores classic cars, and over Labor Day, Theodore checked them out.

(no flash here).

{I forced my camera to flash here ... if you have glass, don't take a flash photo straight-on ... stand a bit off to an angle).

Cruise night

Guess who left a hand print on the rear view mirror from earlier playing? Hint: No one over age 2!!!!

We headed out to cruise in the convertible. This car has been in the works for years .... decades in fact. :)

My father-in-law is a Ford man. He has the hat pins to proove it. (use the MACRO function on your camera for a close up photo like this).

Bobby Ann + Vern.

Me + Erik. But Daddy-O Vern wouldn't let Erik drive. He just likes to sit there. ;)

Lindsborg for an afternoon

When my in-laws were here last month, we went to the Salt Mines. We also took a day trip to Lindsborg. They're famous for the Dala horses. They're everywhere in that town.

Even outside of the senior center.

This horse makes me giggle, with its hearing aide + Ben-Gay.

Arizona VII

So, we've done all of this talking about some Arizona stuff and should mention one of the main reasons Erik and I went to Arizona: Bobby Ann and Vern's 50th Wedding Anniversary! :)

Don't we clean up nicely for their dinner?

Oh this cake ... it was spectacular! I think there was some apricots and white cake. Um ... yeeeeeeah. Yummie.

Poor Vern, not the most flattering photo, but excited about their gift certificates from their friends.

House Blessing

Fr. Nick blessed our house several weeks ago ..... and we had plenty of family and friends in town for the festivities. :)

The dudes doing the grill thing.

And of course, after a good meal, this is what the men in my family do ...

Cuzzzzzzins

As you can see, I'm beginning to catch up on blogging. :)

A few weeks ago, we got together in western Kansas to celebrate Grandpa John's b-day. When we were there, we were able to see cousin Jen + her cute little boy, J-Bob. Errrrr ... Jackson. :)

Crossover

I'm not sure how many of my friends cross from my personal blog with Erik to my business blog with Mike, but now is an excellent time to do so!

Anyhow, Erik went with me to Dodge City a few weeks ago because I had an engagement session with Shauna and James. Erik's grandpa John lives there, so we had a nice lunch with Greandpa, uncle John Wayne and some of Grandpa's cronies.

After lunch, Erik did manly things like watch golf with the men while I had the engagement session. Anyhow, cruise over to the Heartland blog to see the slideshow from the session!
