Chicago 2010 — pt. 5

We also made it to a Cubs game!

With a 2-ish hour rain delay, it was a late start.

Erik thinks I have a little rain cloud that has been following me to MLB games this season. And he has a valid point. It rained in KC, and in Washington and in Chicago. Sheesh!

Matt, our awesome host.

Erik with Mr. Woo-Woo.

Us with him ... see me "woo-woo-ing"? (I didn't ask questions about that sequenced glove).

Aaaand, finally us. Me looking like a drowned rat b/c I had an engagement session. In the rain. In Chicago. It was a great session, but let's just say I looked like I'd been hit by a bus when it was all over.

Royals game

A little rain cloud seems to be following us around. We've been to 2 baseball games this summer and they have BOTH had rain delay. Sheesh!

Mid-May, we went to KC to catch a Royals game with the entire fam/extended fam. We were jazzed .... until we arrived and it was rainy and cold.

Erik was dressed more warmly than I. Smart cookie. I had to bum stuff off anyone who felt sorry for me!

The last time I saw a flag this big was when I was photographing the 9/11 anniversary in 2002. It was at Yankee stadium, so it was cool to see this. Even if it was freezing.

A little closer.

Washington D.C. 2010 — pt. 1

A few months ago, I flew to DC for some portrait sessions. :)

I'm not generally a nervous flier (as long as I'm not looking out the window), but I had a window seat. Great. And this was what I saw flying into National.

I'm no flying expert, but I even *felt* that it was a short runway. We landed, and it was all "slam on your breaks" ... crazy talk!

I crashed at my friend, Kim's, house. But her cat, Louie, was the only one who got some rest. Almost immediately after landing, we headed out the door for a Nationals baseball game.

I think the park's fairly new?

It's a beautiful facility!

Interior.

From our seats.

More from our seats.

I love attention to detail. Look at the "W" in the gates! Gotta love the details!

See those streaks? That's rain, people. It downpoured!

Now, this post doesn't mean I'm 100% back in action for blogging, all. It just means I've caught up with my editing and can steal a few minutes here and there to blog. So no promises on how frequently I'll be back .... but it should be more than it has been in the last few weeks!

In the dog (er....cat) house ....

After my overly optimistic post about a team who shall remain nameless, things have started to tank for the team.

Erik is calling for an immediate removal of the blog post, but I'm afraid the damage is done. :( I'm really hoping things turn around, or I'll be forced to sleep in the cathouse outside.

Winning streak!

Royals win 6 in a row and are above 500!!!!!!

I know nothing else about the team/season, really.

Oh, wait. I do. Someone was on the cover of Sports Illustrated for something. Pitching something. Less than 1/2 of a percent something. See, honey? I listen and know ALL ABOUT baseball talk! ;)

Maybe this will prompt Erik to blog about his eternal love/optimism about the Royals.

Or not.

In other baseball news, my boyfriend, Manny, was suspended for almost eternity (50 games) for testing positive for Pixie Stix. Or was it human growth hormone. I get the two confused.

I'm hoping he'll use the time to go out and purchase a belt to keep his drawers up. When we were in LA last year, we caught a game and his pants were nearly around his ankles. Poor Manny, new $25M contract and he couldn't even afford a belt. :(

;)

To reward Erik for being SO AWESOME, we went to a Dodgers game.

Besides, when I was in softball, I was on the Dodgers team!!!!!

Oh, and no trip to Dodger Stadium would be complete without a Dodger Dog!
